Alas I didn't drink that many German wines last year simply because where I live they are difficult to come by & when ones come across one they aren't so inexpensive.
One that did stand out a bit though was a Pfalz Riesling Kabinett 07' Feinherb Herxheim am Berg Honingsack. This was my first Feinherb as generally in the past I have stuck with either Kabinett or Spatlese.
On the nose: apricot, sweet nuts, floral & honey
Palate: apricot, honey & pleasant acidity.
Texture: waxy & creamy
Finish: quite dry & mineral.
I was pleased with this wine, though not overly impressed with it as it had a good balance between sweetness, dryness & that full-bodied structure that you find with Pfalz Rieslings.
There were a few other Rieslings & one Spatburgunder but nothing terribly exciting or that stands out. I will endeavor to drink more good German wine this year.
